TOWN OF MEDINA (WKOW) -- A town of Medina farm owner was able to save 49 out of 50 baby goats from inside before the structure became a total loss during a fire early Tuesday afternoon.

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, along with fire fighters from Sun Prairie, Marshall, Waterloo, Cambridge, Cottage Grove, and Deerfield, responded shortly before 1 p.m. April 3, 2018 to a barn fire at 1394 W. Medina Road.

There were no other injuries or property damage as a result of the fire. The estimated loss of the building is $10,000 to $15,000.

A preliminary investigation points to a heat lamp as the possible cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
