MADISON (WKOW) -- Don't call it the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board anymore, it has changed its name to Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin.
DFW Board Member Jeff Strassburg says, "The purpose of the organization is to grow demand for Wisconsin milk by enhancing the competitiveness of the Wisconsin dairy industry."
Through the organization, dairy farmers work together and focus on: partnering with restaurant chains, educating students, investing in research, working with editors, and working with retailers.
Dairy farmer Tina Hinchley says, "If we didn't have this, then who would buy our products? Who would create the products? Who would educate the kids about the nutritious value of the products that are coming out of our wonderful cows?"
The new name makes a stronger connection between the dairy farmers and their supporting partners. You can learn more here.
