Better turnout for 2nd weekend of Dane County Farmers' Market

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Farmers' Market kicked off in the sleet and snow for its opening weekend, but this weekend was a much different story.

The market manager says three times as many vendors showed up to the square Saturday than last weekend. There were also many more customers who came out to enjoy one of our first 50-degree days of the season.

"It feels a little more like that rite of spring, the first market, even though there is hardly any green grass or buds on the trees it feels like summer is right around the corner," said Sarah Elliott, market manager.

More produce will be available each week as we get closer to summer. The Wednesday farmers' market is also open on the 200 block of MLK Boulevard, off the square.
