Madison radio stations partner with Children's Hospital to raise money

MADISON (WKOW) -- Two Madison area flagship radio stations are working with the American Family Children's Hospital to raise money.

Their 14th annual radiothon kicked off Wednesday. For the next three days, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. families and patients treated at the hospital will tell their stories of survival and courage on the air.

Donations will be used to help make children undergoing treatment feel more at home.

"The money is used to help and support the programs we have in our building," said Development Program Coordinator Lori Schultz. "Child life, palliative care, pain management, the list goes on and on, but really anything the families are able to take advantage of."

The hospital hopes to beat last year's fundraising goal of $660,000.

You can hear the patients' stories and give to the campaign. The radiothon continues on Q 106 and 93.1 JAMZ Thursday and Friday.
