MADISON (WKOW) -- Police arrested a man who they say drunkenly broke into a man's home and claimed to have partied there overnight.

Police say a man who lived in the home was woken up by the suspect, 23-year-old Michael R. Greer, in the building. The victim said Greer removed a window screen and climbed into the apartment, then refused to leave.

It happened around 6 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Wilson Street in downtown Madison.

The Madison Police Department says the man dragged Greer out of his home and a nearby construction worker called police, according to officials.

Police say the suspect maintained he had been partying at the victim's apartment earlier in the night, but the man who lived there said Greer was lying.

Greer was arrested for felony trespass.
