MADISON (WKOW) -- Just four days after getting the Republican endorsement for U.S. Senate, Wisconsin Next PAC is out with a new campaign ad supporting Leah Vukmir. It focuses on the state senator's background and receiving the nomination over her opponent Kevin Nicholson.
The new ad touts her “consistent conservative” record, as well as pro-life view. It also highlights how she would build a wall along the US-Mexico border if elected in the U.S. Senate.
Her opponent in the August 14th primary is not throwing in the towel yet. Kevin Nicholson said he plans to remain in the race until voters decide who’s the winner in August.
“No matter who I'm running against in this race, it's going to be a career politician and the people of Wisconsin made it darn clear in their most recent elections their not interested in career politicians,” said Nicholson. ”Sending them to Washington doesn’t work and that's why I will win in August.”
Reports show ad cost about $500,000 and it will air on TV and radio, and in digital ads.
“Voters want people to follow through on their promises and that is something that I have done in Wisconsin and that's something they can count on me to continue to do," said Vukmir.
Both share one common goal: defeating the Democratic incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin.
