MADISON (WKOW) -

Jenna Haney is coming home. The former Badgers swimmer is rejoining the program as an assistant coach. New head coach Yuri Suguiyama announced the hiring of the Milton native.

“Jennah’s energy and enthusiasm are going to impact our program right away,” Suguiyama said in a statement. “She is a talented, passionate, hard-working coach and I’m thrilled to have her coming back to Madison.”

Haney was a four-year letterwinner for the Badgers. She competed in the breaststroke and individual medley. She graduated in 2014 and spent two seasons on the staff at Akron as a graduate assistant and then assistant coach.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to return home to Wisconsin and coach for the Badgers,” Haney said. “It was an easy decision after coming back to campus and meeting Yuri. The amount of energy he brings, just being around him for a short amount of time, you couldn’t help but be excited. It’s something I knew I wanted to be a part of. I look forward to doing anything I can to help him lead the program.”
