Packers add offensive line depth by signing Bell

Posted: Updated:

The Packers have added some depth on the offensive line by signing veteran Byron Bell. The team released offensive lineman Jacob Alsadek to make room on the roster.

Bell has started 74 of the 90 games in his career. The 6'5", 320-pound former undrafted rookie originally signed with the Carolina Panthers on July 28, 2011. He started 56 games over four seasons with the Panthers. He then signed with Tennessee and started 16 games his first season with the Titans before missing the entire 2016 season with an ankle injury. Bell returned last season to play in 12 games with the Cowboys. He has played tackle and guard throughout his career.

Alsadek signed with the Packers as a rookie free agent out of the University of Arizona on May 4.
