Brewers draft Turang in first round

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -

The Milwaukee Brewers sticking to the infield again this year in the opening round of the MLB Draft. The team drafted shortstop Brice Turang from Santiago (CA) High School with the 21st overall selection.

The 18-year old hit .352 with 5 HR, and 21 RBI his senior season. He is committed to play college baseball at Louisiana State University.

The left-handed hitter is the son of Brian Turang, who was originally drafted by the Brewers in the 20th round in 1987. Brian did not sing with Milwaukee. He was later drafted by Seattle and played parts of two seasons with the Mariners.
