MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Mayor Paul Soglin wants to use $50,000 to bring in an outside attorney to defend the city in a lawsuit brought by the developer of the Judge Doyle Square Project.

Beitler Real Estate filed the lawsuit, claiming the city violated its contract with the developer.

According to Mayor Soglin's resolution to bring in the attorney, the money would come out of funds already set aside for the project. The resolution needs to be approved by the City Council.

City officials say they're moving forward on Judge Doyle Square, despite the lawsuit.
