MADISON (WKOW) -- An Aurora, Illinois man will go to a federal prison for nine years for his part in a January, 2018 hold-up of an East Madison T-Mobile store.

Steven Gayden, 23, was one of three men who entered the Dempsey St. store around 7 PM on Jan. 12th, waving a gun around threatening clerks, according to a news release.

He was sentenced today at the Federal Courthouse in Madison.

Gayden pleaded guilty to robbing the store of cell phones, SIM cards and cash while the T-Mobile clerks were told to lay on the floor, according to the news release.

He will receive an additional five years of supervised released after his nine years behind bars.

His two co-conspirators, William Thomas and Doren Skanes, will be sentenced on August 2 after they also pleaded guilty of robbery while using a firearm..
