More than $100K raised at AIDS Ride Wisconsin

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- AIDS Ride Wisconsin wrapped up its 250-mile ride Sunday in Madison.

The ride started Friday in Madison and went throughout southern Wisconsin, ending back in Madison. This year, there were more than one hundred riders raising money in the fight against AIDS.

The event is hosted by the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, or the ARCW.

"People with HIV are living longer in Wisconsin than any other state in America today because ARCW is handling about half of the states population with HIV. We think we have a really strong impact on that statistic," said Dan Mueller, with ARCW.

The event raised $108-thousand this year. That's an increase over last year's ride. The money is used to help HIV patients live longer, healthier lives.
