(WKOW) -- A Midwest woman has dedicated her career to researching history and has found a hobby is historical cooking.
Terri Karsten, from Minnesota, traveled to Madison to appear on Wake Up Wisconsin Tuesday.
She talked about some of her findings while researching historical cooking, like a pie bird. It's a tool used in the 1930s that you put into pies to release steam.
Karsten is also a historical fiction writer. She will be at the DeForest Public Library on Wednesday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. for a free “Meet the Author” presentation.
