What do the letters WKOW stand for?                                                                                    Originally, the station tried to use K-O-W and cows as a way to promote the station, using a smiling bovine along with the station logo.

How do I submit a story idea for news coverage?
We've made it easy. Email is the best choice for scheduled events. Send your information to news@wkow.com. Please remember to include contact information, time, date and place in your e-mail. If you see news happen, call the 27 newsroom at 608-273-2727. Send your cell phone pictures to news@wkow.com. You may also use our new 27 Personal app to upload still photos or video from your phone.

How do I get a copy of a story that aired on WKOW 27?
We've made that easy too. Find the Video tab at the top of this page. Click on "Video Request" and you'll see this form you'll need to fill out and the details about the process. (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to see the form.)

How do I get a Public Service Announcement on WKOW 27?
PSAs can be sent on DVC Pro or Beta tape to Jill Genter, WKOW-TV, 5727 Tokay Blvd, Madison, WI 53719.

How do I submit an item to the WKOW.com Community Calendar?
First you have to register, the service is free, then you can post the event. That way our viewers have 24/7 access to the information. Click on the Community tab at the top of this page. (You can also do so by clicking here.)  If you are looking for news coverage of your event, please contact the newsroom directly.

Does WKOW give tours of the television station? 
Tours of the WKOW 27 studios are available Monday-Thursday 9am-1pm for groups of 15-25 people ages 10 or older. Email Jill Genter or call 274-1234.  

Tours of 27 Weather Central are available Monday-Friday. Groups of 15-25 people ages 8 or older. Tours 9am-10:30am contact Brian Olson at 274-1234. For tours between 3-6 p.m. contact Bob Lindmeier at 271-2175.

Does WKOW turn up the volume on commercials?
No. The audio in many commercials is processed in a way to make it sound louder. WKOW's transmission equipment is designed to maintain normal audio levels across our programming day.

How do I sign up for Bob's 4 degree guarantee?
