CONTINUING COVERAGE: Oregon principal nearly twice legal driving limit
TOWN OF TRENTON (WKOW) -- Dodge County authorities said Oregon High School principal Chris Ligocki's blood alcohol content after an arrest for drunken driving was .158, nearly twice Wisconsin's legal limit of .08.
Earlier this week, Dodge County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Blaine Lauersdorf told 27 News a preliminary breath test pegged Ligocki's blood alcohol content at .11. Dodge County official Debbie Werner said the higher value was the result of a later blood test.
Lauersdorf told 27 News a patrol officer made contact with Ligocki, 53, as Ligocki hitchiked on Highway 151 in the Town of Trenton June 25 at just past two in the morning. Lauersdorf said the deputy detected the odor of alcohol on Ligocki and Ligocki admitted he had been driving. Authorities said Ligocki had run out of gas.
Ligocki has a scheduled court appearance in Dodge County for first offense drunken driving July 28.
