MADISON (WKOW) -- A world-renowned chess player took on a talented group of students in Madison on Friday.
Maurice Ashley showed his skills and check-mated 25 students at Wright Middle School.
One youngster offered a bit of a challenge for the grandmaster.
11-year-old Brian Luo was one of the last players left.
His chess coach calls him a prodigy and says the competition is a great way to introduce kids to a game of intelligence and skill.
Ashley's visit is part of the Asset Builders 8th Annual Money Conference.
The conference continues Saturday at Wright Middle School from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
