MADISON (WKOW) -- From Wisconsin Lottery:
Verlyn and Judith Adamson of Mount Horeb made it a clean sweep as they validated the third and fourth $350,000 prizes from the Wisconsin Lottery's August 16th SuperCash drawing.
Monday, they claimed the drawing's two other winning tickets.
The Adamsons won $1.4 million with four separate SuperCash tickets purchased in four different communities, all for the same drawing. They bought their winning tickets in Barneveld, Darlington, Mineral Point and Mount Horeb.
"We haven't seen anything quite like this before," Lottery spokesperson Andrew Bohage says. "This is unique."
The Adamsons will receive $955,000 after taxes.
Saturday morning's SuperCash numbers were 01, 05, 08, 13, 24 and 26. Verlyn Adamson reportedly chose to play those numbers based on a "formula" he has been working on.
The Adamsons' attorney, Scott Thompson released the following statement Thursday afternoon:
"No press conferences or interviews will be conducted. No further statements will be issued.
"The mathematical equation used is a trade secret. At this time, we are exploring patent protection. Therefore, any public disclosure at this time is not in my clients' best interest.
"Mr. and Mrs. Adamson delayed cashing in the last 2 tickets in an attempt to lessen the publicity. Hopefully, the media and public will respect the Adamson's wishes to privacy."
