The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon raises money to help provide services for over 400 clients in the southwestern Wisconsin Area, who have one of 43 neuromuscular diseases. These services include clinic visits, genetic counseling, wheel chairs and one week of summer camp. The money donated also helps support researchers in their quest for causes, treatments and ultimately a cure for Muscular Dystrophy.
To make a pledge during the telethon call (608)249-4722 or 1(800)796-9517. Or you can make a pledge anytime online at www.mda.org. If you donate online, there is no guarantee the money will stay in Southwestern Wisconsin, but it will if you call in your donation during the telethon.
The Labor Day Telethon in 2007, nationally pledged a total of $63.8 million, and locally pledged $381,992.
