MADISON (WKOW) -- From Dane County Narcotics & Gang Task Force:
On Wed. September 3rd, 2008 members of the Dane County Narcotics and Gang Task Force investigated and disrupted a marijuana grow in a farmer's field in the township of Dane.
While it was only 58 plants, it was obvious to investigators that care was given by those who planted the marijuana to make sure the grow was protected and the plants were well cared for. The plants were strategically placed in various spots of concealment in the fields and along the tree lines of the property.
Detectives are working on information that may lead them to the suspect or suspects in this case.
It is almost time to harvest crops, (legal and illegal) so please be aware of activities in and around farm fields or wooded areas.
Suspicious activity during the late evening hours or early morning in areas not generally known for pedestrian or vehicle traffic should be reported to the Sheriff's Office or your local police.
