MADISON (WKOW) -- Thousands of athletes are resting Monday after swimming more than two miles, biking more than a hundred, and then running a marathon in the Madison Ironman.
More than 2000 competitors raced around the area Sunday.
Hillary Biscay of Arizona took the women's race, and Chris McDonald of Australia was tops on the mens' side.
McDonald set a new course record at a grueling 8 hours, 43 minutes, and 29 seconds.
Many of the racers were thrilled with the weather and said they were ideal conditions.
