Improvised explosive device

The Madison Police Department and Crime Stoppers need your help in obtaining information about an improvised explosive device that was left in the 7000 block of Littlemore Drive on the east side of Madison.  On September 8th, 2008, at approximately 10 pm, Madison Police and Fire responded to a small fire at a construction site and found a propane bottle with a flame emitting from it. This bottle had been wrapped in tape and had a fuse attached to it.  The propane bottle appears to have been set up for some type of explosion, but this was not successful.

A small black four door vehicle, possibly a Honda or Nissan, was seen driving from the area prior to the emergency personnel arriving on scene.  This vehicle may have a Green Bay specialty license plate displayed and there were 3 people in this car.

If you have any information about this improvised explosive device or can provide information about any crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.

This is Madison Police Officer Paul Jacobsen for this week's Crime Stopper.
