MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Former Senate Majority Leader Chuck Chvala will be allowed to practice law again in Wisconsin.
The state Supreme Court has reinstated the law license of the Madison Democrat whose political career was ended by a scandal in which several lawmakers of both parties were convicted of misconduct.
The court had suspended Chvala's license for two years after he pleaded guilty to felony misconduct in office and a campaign finance violation.
Chvala applied for reinstatement earlier this year after he completed the terms of his sentence. State regulators supported his reinstatement.
Chvala has recently worked in commercial real estate and as a political commentator for a Madison television station.
