Madison (WKOW) -- from Special Olympics Wisconsin: Children ages 2 through 10, are encouraged to compete in the Great Wisconsin Credit Union DuRunRun, September 21, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg, with proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Wisconsin.
Kids will run, bike and then run again on courses that vary by age and gender in support of the 2000 athletes with cognitive disabilities in South Central Wisconsin.
Two year olds will compete in a 50- yard run only.
Duathlon activities range from a 75-yard run, 300 yard bike or trike race, and another 75-yard run for three and four year olds to a quarter mile run, two mile bike, and another quarter mile run for 9-l0 year olds.
Great Wisconsin Credit Union volunteers will help with race logistics and have arranged for activities such as face painting, mascots, music and more.
Registration is $15 a child for the first two children and $10 for each additional entrant.
Participants can also raise pledges with fund raising prizes available for those who collect $50 or more.

Special Olympics Wisconsin provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for nearly 10,000 individuals with cognitive disabilities.
