Madison (WKOW) -- from Adams County Sheriff: At approximately 10:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, the Adams County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle in the 900 block of CTH J.
This location is approximately 3 miles east of the Village of Friendship in the Adams County Township of Adams.
Upon the arrival at the scene, Deputies determined that vehicle driven by James Vandermeir, age 44, from Friendship was east bound on CTH J and failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle left the roadway, entered the north ditch and rolled several times.
Vandermeir, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger, Dante Bolden, age 50, also from Friendship, was transported by ambulance to Moundview Memorial Hospital and then air lifted to UW Hospital in Madison.
Bolden was not wearing a seat belt and his current condition is not known.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Adams Fire and Rescue, Moundview Memorial Hospital EMS, and the Adams County Coronor's Office.
This crash remains under investigation.
