At approximately 8:30 am, a concerned citizen called 911 and alerted authorities to a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood.
Cottage Grove Police and Dane County Deputies made contact with Michael C. Rowe, age 26 of Madison, and Meco K. Johnson, age 21 of Fitchburg, who were in an 1995 white Oldsmobile sedan.
Upon further investigation of the area, it was discovered that forced entry had been made to a home on Westlawn Drive and the home appeared to have been burglarized.
A third suspect, Antonio Rowe, age 19 of Madison, fled the area on a bicycle and then later on foot; Deputies apprehended him in a marshy area near the 400 block of Oak Street.
In his possession was a backpack containing items believed to have been stolen from the residence on Westlawn Drive.
The Dane County Crime Scene Unit responded to assist Cottage Grove Police with processing evidence at the scene of the burglary.
All three men are being held in the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of Burglary, and additional charges may be pending.
The Cottage Grove Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
