A big time adventurer hopes to make a big splash at Edgerton's annual book and film festival this weekend.
The Sterling North Book and Film Festival draws in about two thousand people a year, which isn't bad considering Edgerton's population is only five thousand. Over seventy authors and film makers will be presenting at the festival, including Scott Mitchen, a professional treasure hunter and Rock County native.
For the past twenty five years, Mitchen has been travelling the world diving for sunken treasures. Now he's trying his hand at writing. He's promoting his book, Will of the Pirates, at the festival.
"It's kind of full circle. I left here to search for treasure and on this scale, and now I'm coming back with a book written about it... Fiction mixed with non-fiction," explains Mitchen.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday. The chamber of commerce says it's Edgerton's biggest event of the year.
