Madison (WKOW) -- from WI Courts: The Wisconsin Judicial Commission Tuesday filed a formal complaint in the Wisconsin Supreme Court alleging that the Honorable Michael J. Gableman has engaged in judicial misconduct.
Under the procedures set out in Wis. Stat. §§ 757.81 to 757.99 (2005-06), the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals, shall select the Judicial Conduct Panel to hear the matter.
The Panel will then report its findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommend discipline, if any, to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court will then review the report and issue a final decision in the case.
The allegations in the complaint must be proven to a reasonable certainty by clear and convincing evidence by the Judicial Commission.
The complaint and all proceedings on it are public.
The Commission will not comment further while the case remains pending in the Supreme Court.
