MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A circuit court judge says he's leaning toward running against Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson in next spring's Supreme Court election.
Randy Koschnick of Jefferson County says he's been getting advice from political consultant Darrin Schmitz and making calls to potential supporters.
He says he'll make a final decision in the next 30 days and announce it sometime after the presidential election.
Schmitz helped Michael Gableman defeat Louis Butler to win a seat on the court in an expensive and nasty race earlier this year.
A complaint filed Tuesday alleges Gableman committed judicial misconduct when he ran a television ad suggesting Butler helped free a child molester.
Koschnick says Schmitz won't run his campaign.
