Wisconsin starting quarterback up in the air

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema says who starts for the Badgers at quarterback this weekend will depend on who practices better this week.

The struggling Badgers replaced starting quarterback Allan Evridge with Dustin Sherer in the third quarter of Wisconsin's defeat to Penn State on Saturday.

The senior Evridge was 2-of-10 for 50 yards and an interception before he was pulled.

Sherer was 9-of-17 for 115 yards.

  He is a junior.

Bielema says both quarterbacks did well in some areas.

But he says how they handle practice this week will determine who starts against Iowa.

Wisconsin has lost three games in a row and now has little chance to compete for the Big Ten title.
