FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A Wisconsin teenager who pleaded guilty to killing his sister in Fargo has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Sixteen-year-old Sergei Carlson pleaded guilty to charges of murder and a deviate sexual act in the June 2007 death of his 16-year-old sister, Whitney.
He was visiting her in Fargo.
Authorities say Sergei Carlson strangled his sister in her bedroom and put a pillow over her face to muffle her sounds, then had sex with her.
Judge John Irby had rejected an earlier plea agreement that would have called for Carlson to serve 30 years in prison.
