U.S. Marshals arrest sex offender fugitive in Madison

Madison (WKOW) -- from U.S. Marshals:  The Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad arrested Paul Williams in Madison, WI.

  Williams was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and Violation of Parole.

  Williams has a lengthy history of prior criminal offenses including rape, armed robbery and escape.

  Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad (BFAS) members obtained information regarding Williams' whereabouts after several weeks of investigations.

  BFAS members acted upon this information, located Williams hiding in the trunk of his car located inside the garage of his residence and took him into custody without incident.

  The Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of law enforcement officers from the Madison Office of the U.S. Marshals Service, Dane County Sheriffs Department, City of Madison Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Division of Probation and Parole and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
