MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Jim Doyle wants all state hiring to go through his Department of Administration.
The head of that agency issued a statement Friday saying that all hiring decisions will have to go through DOA.
Agency Secretary Michael Morgan said the new centralized process is the result of the national economic crisis.
Morgan told state agencies that no job offers should be extended and that all positions currently in the recruitment stage will be reviewed.
The University of Wisconsin System, state courts and the Legislature are not included.
The requests will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
