Middleton holiday pops concert to proceed as planned

Madison (WKOW) -- from Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra:  The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO) and the WCO musicians have agreed to proceed with their popular Middleton Holiday Pops concert as planned on November 29th and 30th

As a show of good faith and to mark progress in negotiations, both parties came to an agreement that the concert would go on while negotiations on a new contract continue.

"We're delighted to be able to produce our Holiday Pops concert to kick off the holiday season", said Doug Gerhart, executive director of the WCO. "We are so proud of our artistic accomplishments and it will be wonderful to again provide great music for our audiences."

Naomi Bensdorf Frisch, principal oboe, added, "Naturally, as musicians, we look forward to sharing our music with our audience once again.  We are delighted to have made this important progress; it will feel very good to provide some holiday joy for young and old alike this Thanksgiving weekend."

This year marks the 12th annual Middleton Holiday Pops concert, and is sponsored by the Middleton Tourism Commission.

"This concert has become a favorite in the community. We have a group of very talented musicians, and we are all delighted to give the gift of music this holiday season", said Gerhart.
