MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema says an axe is more important than a bowl -- this week, anyway.
The Badgers host Minnesota on Saturday in the most-played rivalry in NCAA Bowl Subdivision football.
The two schools will be meeting for the 118th time. They've played every year since 1890, except for 1906. The winner gets the Paul Bunyan Axe.
If it's Wisconsin, the Badgers (5-5 overall, 2-5 Big Ten) also will become bowl-eligible.
Minnesota (7-3, 3-3) has lost two straight games after a 7-1 start.
Wisconsin won a 41-34 shootout at the Metrodome last season and has kept possession of the axe four years in a row and 11 of the last 13.
