MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- State of Wisconsin employees are being recognized for finding smart ways to save money and improve efficiency.
The State Employee Suggestion Board is honoring four Department of Transportation employees for giving the best suggestion in 2008.
The board says Steven Krebs, Janie Pflaum, Sally Andrews and Frank Hilscher improved the way the department bills contractors for construction plans sent to them every month.
The employees converted to a three-month billing cycle and found a way to eliminate the need to sort thousands of pieces of paper to track orders.
Also being honored are two employees at the Department of Employee Trust Funds, Wendy Pink and Brian Schroeder, who combined two health insurance forms into a single form. About 85,000 copies of the form are printed every year.
