MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Marcus Landry scored 23 points as No. 25 Wisconsin survived a scare from Long Beach State and defeated the 49ers 68-61 Sunday at the Kohl Center.
Landry had two crucial baskets and a pair of critical blocks late in the game. The senior forward gave Wisconsin a 59-57 lead with less than four minutes to play, just moments after blocking Donovan Morris' shot on the other end.
But the 49ers stayed within one basket until Landry sank a 3-pointer with 29.9 seconds left. Landry then swatted away Maurice Clady's layup attempt.
Wisconsin led by as many as nine points in the second half, until Morris single-handedly brought the 49ers back into the game.
Morris, who led the 49ers with 12 points, scored on five straight possessions to bring the 49ers to within 57-55 with 6:59 to play.
