Madison (WKOW) -- from Dane Co. Sheriff's Office: Early Monday morning, the Dane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a crash in the Town of Vienna.
According to the sheriff's office, 19-year-old Lindsey R. Schmitt of Dane was driving her car when she lost control at a 90 degree turn.
The car ended up in a cornfield, where it rolled over once before stopping.
Schmitt was not wearing her seatbelt and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
She was transported to UW Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A passenger, 19-year-old Maddie Wood of Dane, was also taken to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Schmitt was arrested for Causing Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle and was also cited for not wearing a seatbelt.
Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.
