Madison teen arrested for burglary and auto theft

Madison (WKOW) -- from Madison PD:  On Tuesday afternoon, a Madison Police officer spotted a stolen vehicle traveling on Regent Street toward West Washington Avenue.

  The officer stopped the Toyota truck and arrested the teenage driver on the spot.

  Police found several items stolen from a School Road home during a burglary that had occurred earlier in the day from the suspect's pockets, and from the inside the truck.

  The stolen items included a laptop computer and jewelry, all of which the homeowner identified as being stolen during the crime.

  Police believe the suspect gained entry through a window.

  The Toyota truck was also stolen during the burglary.

  The suspect was arrested and tentatively charged with Burglary and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owners' Consent.
