MADISON (WKOW) -- Downtown Madison shop owners were hoping that maybe some of the shoppers from Black Friday were skipping the malls and big boxes on Saturday for something a little more local.
The annual Madison Holiday Open House gave people the chance to hop on a free trolley running down State Street and around Capitol Square.
The city of Madison's Business Improvement District calls it 'Black Saturday.'
"I think we have to support our local businesses and our local communities, especially this year with the economy," said Judy Fritz as she shopped on State Street.
The Open House ran from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.
