Madison (WKOW) -- from WI Governor's Office: Governor Jim Doyle announced Monday that he is appointing Dan Kanninen as Legislative Director effective December 9, 2008.
Kanninen replaces Ron Hermes who has been appointed Administrator of the Division of Enterprise Operations at the Department of Administration.
"Dan has tremendous experience working with the state legislature and he knows the entire state very well," Governor Doyle said.
Dan Kanninen is a veteran of the legislature and Wisconsin politics.
Kanninen brings more than a decade of capital experience to the Governor's office, including four years of service as Chief of Staff to Senator Bob Jauch.
During his time in the state senate, Kanninen developed an intimate knowledge of the state budget by staffing the Joint Committee on Finance and two separate Budget Conference Committees.
Most recently, Kanninen worked on the Obama Presidential Campaign, traveling to three states in the primary before serving as the Wisconsin State Director in the general election.
Kanninen is a native of Superior, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
