SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) -- Sun Prairie is Wisconsin's fastest-growing city with a 24 percent growth rate since 2000.
The Madison suburb has nearly 27,800 residents, and estimates show the population could reach 40,000 by 2030.
Some longtime residents say that's more than enough.
They complain of increased traffic, noise, and crime.
The president of a public schools advocacy group says the growth is coming faster than the city can handle.
Eileen Stevens says it's straining the schools.
Dane County Sheriff's Detective Joel Wagner warns about a growing gang problem.
But Sun Prairie has less crime than the national average and a higher graduation rate than the state average.
It also has some of Dane County's most affordable housing, with an average price of $211,000.
