UPDATE: Crews rescue all 8 people stranded on Wis. ice

NAMUR, Wis. (AP) -- Eight people have been rescued off a large chunk of ice that broke off from shore and floated into Green Bay.

The group was standing close to shore Thursday morning when the chunk broke away and drifted into the bay. It happened near Namur, which is about 25 miles north of Green Bay.

Rescue crews in Door County, including the Coast Guard, retrieved all eight people safely.

There were no reports of injuries or of anyone falling into the water.
