Governor Doyle to focus on opportunity in State of the State
MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Jim Doyle will focus Wednesday's State of the State Address on creating opportunity in the face of the tough economic times, according to the Governor's office.
Doyle will deliver his speech on how to move the state forward before the State Legislature on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m.
"In my address before the Legislature and the people of Wisconsin, I will lay out the impact that the national economic slowdown has had on the state and outline the next steps we must take to ensure that we protect our priorities like good schools for our kids, health care for those who need it, and jobs for our hardworking families," Governor Doyle said. "We meet at a time of great difficulty in this country, which has been felt deeply in this state, but I know we can meet any challenge and come through stronger than ever."
