LOS ANGELES (WKOW)-- An ad campaign featuring R&B singer Chris Brown as a spokesperson for Doublemint gum has been suspended. Wrigley, the company that makes Doublemint gum, decided to halt the campaign following Brown's arrest on Sunday night for alleged battery on a woman. Brown, scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, canceled his performance.
A spokesperson for Wrigley said they had concerns amid "serious allegations made against Chris Brown." Adding, that Brown should be "afforded the same due process as any citizen." The company did maintain however that they would suspend any current advertising or related marketing until the situation is resolved.
