Winter weather returns to Wisconsin


MADISON (WKOW) -- Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect through Saturday evening from Dane County eastward.  A few light snow showers and flurries will continue through midnight tonight with little additional accumulation. 

So far, central and eastern Dane County showed the highest snow totals in our area, with more than half a foot.

Breezy conditions will cause blowing and drifting snow, along with reduced visibilities throughout the overnight hours.  Skies will begin to clear out before sunrise, allowing temperatures to fall into the low teens. 

Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny and cold with highs in the upper teens to near 20 degrees.

MADISON (WKOW) -- A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect until 3pm Saturday for Lafayette, Green and Rock Counties; and until 6pm Saturday for Walworth County.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect until 12pm Saturday for Richland, Crawford and Grant Counties; and until 3pm Saturday for Dane, Iowa, Columbia, Sauk, Lafayette, Dodge Counties; and until 6pm Saturday Jefferson County.

Tonight: Cloudy with snow developing late in the evening. 2-3" of accumulation by morning. Winds: NE 6-14 mph. Low: 18.

Saturday: Cloudy and breezy with morning snow and a few light snow showers and flurries in the afternoon. An additional 1-3" of accumulation. 3- 6" storm total accumulation. Winds: NW 10-20. High: 24.

Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny and cold. Low/High: 10/22.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Low/High: 7/27.

Tuesday: Increasing cloudy and becoming breezy with a few rain showers developing at night. Low/High: 18/36.
