Pothole Patrol: Evers addresses pothole issues in WI

MADISON (WKOW) – Governor Evers says patching and repairing rough roads will be a priority in the next Transportation Department budget.

“We’re still working hard to make sure that our Department of Transportation is adequately funded,” Evers said while touring the DMV facility on Madison’s east side Monday.

He said the repairs would be part of a larger plan to improve the state’s transportation systems. “Making sure that we’re actually filling the potholes across the state of WI in addition to having great mass transit and good roads in the state.”

In February, the DOT had to close lanes on southbound I-39 in Madison after potholes on an on-ramp became dangerous and threatened to damage vehicles.
