Safer at Home coronavirus order

COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Office has begun recommending charges of "violating a state health order," to arrests in the county.

In a recent post to the department's Facebook page, Sheriff Roger Brandner, wrote, "The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office urges everyone to voluntarily comply with the 'Safer at Home' public health order. We will continue to investigate and take enforcement action on blatant and defiant violations that put the greater community at risk."

For example, the three most recent arrests reported over the past two days on the department's Facebook page -- ranging from criminal trespass, bail jumping and marijuana possession -- also included a recommended charge of violating a state health order.
