1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Walworth County crash

TOWN OF SUGAR CREEK (WKOW) -- One man died and another seriously injured in a crash in Sugar Creek Saturday evening.

The communication center received a call about a reckless driver on WIS 12 south of County HWY A around 11:22 p.m.

According to the sheriff's office the reckless driver almost hit another car before crashing into a sign and then entering back onto WIS 12, heading north, weaving in and out of lanes. The driver hit an eastbound car at 11:32 p.m. on WIS 12 west of County HWY H in Lagrange.

Deputies reported an unconscious man in the car that was hit but were unable to get him out because of damage to the car and a fire in the engine compartment.

The Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his name once family is notified.

The sheriff's office said the reckless driver's car was found on the Northside of Highway 12 in a ditch. He was identified as Timothy M. Creiglow, 33, of  Elkhorn. He was seriously injured and flown to an area hospital.

The following charges for Creiglow have been referred to the Walworth County District Attorney: homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, operating left of center line, operate while intoxicated 1st offense. More charges may be added as the sheriff's office investigates the crash.

Creiglow's bond was set at $150,000 cash.
