BELOIT (WKOW) — A Beloit man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot during a disturbance early Saturday morning.
According to Beloit police, just after 4 a.m., they were called to the 1100 block of Grand Avenue after a witness called 911. They say Christopher A. Barker, 24, was arrested for attempted homicide after a 28-year-old man was shot in the shoulder.
Police say Barker was arrested without incident in the 200 block of Moore Avenue.
Barker and the victim were prior acquaintances, and there is no danger to the community from this incident, according to police.
Police say the victim, whose name is not being released at this time, is in stable condition and is being treated at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
Barker was also arrested for a substantial battery warrant out of Milwaukee County.
