Beloit woman blames shoes for crash involving multiple vehicles

DARLINGTON (WKOW) — A Beloit woman was cited by Darlington, Wisconsin police for inattentive driving and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle after an Aug.13 incident that damaged multiple vehicles.

Police say she was trying to drive her car while putting on her shoes.

Alexis Furino, 26, received the citations following her involvement in a three-vehicle crash on Galena Street in Darlington around 5:30 a.m, according to a press release from Darlington Police Chief Jason King. 

Furino sideswiped two parked vehicles, one of which sustained minor damage while the other sustained severe damage. 

The vehicle Furino was operating also sustained severe damage. Nobody was injured, according to the press release.
